When we share our faith with others, one of two things will take place: 1) they will want to share in our experience, or 2) they will… Read more “Living With A Purpose”
Do you remember the moment that you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? How many times have you rehearsed that special moment within your inner being? Most importantly, how many times have you rehearsed this special event in the hearing of others? Our salvation and deliverance from the bondage of sin and an eternity separated from God should be a part of our daily conversation with others. This was not an experience that God intended to be kept to ourselves, but to be shared with others in order for them to have an opportunity to share in the same experience for themselves. We must make it a matter of urgency to tell of God’s goodness, grace and mercy in every opportunity we receive. Someone is waiting to hear from us…#thinkonthesethings
As we go through this journey called life, we encounter many different types of people from many different walks of life with many different types of belief systems intact. As we engage in interactions with them, we learn many new things and are thereby either enhanced by the encounter or something is taken away from us (if we allow it…). One thing is for certain…as believers in the Lordship of Jesus Christ, we may be the only encounter they may have with Him as He lives within us.
We understand that the Bible teaches us that the “glory of this latter house will be greater than of the former, saith the Lord of Hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the Lord of Hosts…” (Hag. 2:9). We are “the temple of the God, and the Spirit of God dwelleth in you (us)…” (1 Cor. 3:16) and our “body is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you (us), which we have of God…” (1 Cor. 6:19). We are members of the Body of Christ and as a result, His Body has many members throughout the world (1 Cor. 12).
Therefore, being members of the Body of Christ and being the “temple of the Holy Spirit” means that “the latter house” is not fixed in one specific location as we are many throughout the world. Hence, the ‘greater glory’ is being seen throughout the earth as we continue to teach and make new disciples of Christ for the increase of God’s family and the advancement of His Kingdom. We have to make every effort to allow the “glory of the Kingdom” to shine through us in every moment. Because it is only then will others see the Christ in us and be drawn to Him…#thinkonthesethings
There will be times in our lives wherein what we have within us is not enough to carry us through whatever station of life we are in. This is why God called us to be a community…a family…the Body of Christ. Each member has its particular gift(s) and functions in conjunction with the rest of the members of the Body (1 Cor. 12). We were not designed to function independently, but interdependently.
Of course, we rely upon God, for He is the Source from Whom we draw our strength. But we also rely upon one another. Paul teaches us to “bear ye one another’s burdens…” (Gal. 6:2), and “…we then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves…” (Rom. 15:1). In other words, we should be so interconnected that if you hurt, I should feel your pain and do whatever is possible to alleviate your pain. Conversely, if I am in need, then you should be able to assist me in my hour of need. However, this can only be done when we are truly one in the Spirit (Jn. 17:11, 22).
The more we practice unity, the more we will become unified. The more we ‘walk in the Spirit’ of Christ, the more we will become unified. The more we surrender ourselves to Christ, the more we will become unified. Self must die in order for us to truly live. There will never be any unity unless there is first a denial of ourselves for the greater good of the entire Body of Christ…#thinkonthesethings
