Give Thanks

3d human with big negative symbolWhile we are in the midst of the wilderness, we tend to focus upon the wrong things. We focus upon how wrong things are going. We focus upon how we were wronged by others. We focus upon how it seems God has forsaken and forgotten about us. Conversely, we pay very little attention to the little everyday miracles that are taking place around us (i.e., food, clothes, job, health, shelter). We tend to magnify the seemingly negative things while largely neglecting to pay attention to the positive things that are taking place around us (Num. 11-13). What positive things, we may ask?

12-Simple-Ways-You-Can-Do-To-Build-A-Positive-AttitudeTragedies are taking place around us on a daily basis, but they have not brought us to complete ruin. Why? “It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning…” (Lam. 3:22,23). So “…in everything, give thanks…” (1 Thess. 5:18). Why? Because it is the right thing to do…and…because God has everything under control…‪#‎thinkonthesethings‬

  1. Good food for thought. The truth is in the tiny invisible details of our everyday lives. It’s easy to be distracted by the ‘bad stuff’ — even though much of it needs attention. It doesn’t define who we are or the value of the 24 hours God has given us today. Thanks for your post today! And for visiting and following my blog. I’m grateful.

    1. It also doesn’t diminish our character in anyway. Sometimes, the enormity of life overshadows everything else, and as you’ve stated, it definitely does distract us. Hopefully, we aren’t so distracted that enough time has passed to where it becomes detrimental to our progress. Thanks for your comments! 😃
