“…it is the Blood that makes an atonement for the soul…” (Lev. 17:11)
“…without the shedding of the Blood there is no remission…” (Heb. 9:22).
“…a peculiar treasure unto Me [God] above all people…And ye shall be unto Me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation…” (Ex. 19:5,6),
“Ye [Believers] also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ…ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of Him Who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous light…” (1 Pet. 2:5,9),
“…Jesus Christ, who…washed us from our sin in His own Blood, and hath made us kings and priests [kingdom of priests] unto God and His Father…” (Rev. 1:5,6).
The washing away of our sin is not solely for the purpose of providing us with a free one-way ticket into Heaven. Our ransom was paid with something only God Himself could give in our behalf. With the acceptance of His free gift of salvation, in return, He only asks us to represent Him in the world as His “ambassadors”…as His “kingdom of priests” (2 Cor. 5:18-21; Ex. 19:5,6; Rev. 1:5,6). With the acceptance of the free gift of salvation through the Blood of Jesus, we must pick up the mantle of the holy and royal priesthood and live consecrated and sanctified lives in the presence of a world that is at odds with its Creator, the gracious and loving God. Our only hope is that we can represent Him as well as He represented us in the giving of His Son on the Cross in our stead…#thinkonthesethings
