Misconceptions Of The Church From Within, Pt. 5

genealogy of ChristAs time continued, we would eventually observe the rejection of God by those who had been chosen by Him as a result of His relationship with their ancestral father and testator. However, God, in His infinite wisdom, had ordained and prepared the perfect solution to the perpetual sin problem. The problem, it would seem, was not the testators nor the mediators (i.e., Noah, Abraham, Moses, Prophets, etc.), but it was within the nature of humanity themselves (Gen 6:5,6; 8:21). God sent the solution in the form of a man…in the person of His Son, Jesus the Christ. In keeping with the promise to Abraham and David, Christ came through the lineage of the fathers of the covenant. This made Jesus the Christ an Heir with the right to partake of the inheritance of the chosen Nation, but One with Divine prerogatives as well.

A-Better-CovenantHow does Jesus fit into any of this? Christ’s death was symbolized in the Old Testament by the death of Abraham. The new covenant was ratified by the death of Christ with Christ now being received as the Testator of God’s new covenant with the whole of humanity. After Christ’s resurrection from the dead, and following His ascension, we observe the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, which signified the birth of the church (Acts 2). Those who would later become members of the church would become joint-heirs with Christ of the covenantal promises made by God through the obedience of Christ in His death.

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world…” …#‎thinkonthesethings‬
