What Is Right?, Pt. 1

ecc-1-9-web1The authorship of the Book of Ecclesiastes is traditionally ascribed to King Solomon. Within the context of the text, we find verses upon verses of wisdom that cannot be attributed to the mind of humanity. Therefore, we must assume that its author penned these writings under the inspiration and influence of the Holy Spirit. For example, who else could boldly proclaim,

“The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall done: and there is no new thing under the sun. Is there anything whereof it may be said, ‘See, this is new?’ it hath been already of old time, which was before us…” (1:9,10).

What may appear to be new to us has occurred in a previous context. Wars have always existed. Adultery has always existed. Murder has always existed. Hate has always existed. The list goes on. What is also consistent with these acts of antiquity is our response to them. Our genesis is strong, but our finish often ends weak wherein we, like the children of Israel, have raised

“..raised another generation after them (us), which knew not the Lord, nor yet the works which He had done for Israel (us)…” (Judg. 2:10)…#‎thinkonthesethings‬
