The phrase, “…And the children of Israel did evil (again) in the sight of the Lord…” occurs seven times (2:11; 3:7,12; 4:1; 6:1; 10:6; and 13:1). This was soon replaced with the phrase, “…but every man did that which was right in his own eyes…” (17:6; 21:25). If we were to take a glance at history and even observe the nature of what has been taking place within our own contemporary context, we can safely say that we see that “…there is no new thing under the sun…”
The question now becomes: Where are the modern-day prophets and watchmen on the wall who warned of impending destruction in the days of old? The intensity of the levels of sin has dramatically increased. The urgency within the atmosphere has never been more certain. When we place popularity above Kingdom advancement and the implementation of God’s right to rule, the result is what we see on a daily basis. At what point does the Body of Christ hears as the Apostle John in Revelation 22:20,
“He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly…”?
And at what point do we respond,
“…Even so, come, Lord Jesus..”?
Before we can respond in said manner, we must adopt the mindset of Christ (Phil. 2:5), Who said:
“My meat is to do the will of Him that sent me, AND to finish HIS work…” (Jn. 4:34).
The situation at hand is definitely critical. The Body of Christ must return to the basic fundamentals of practicing what it means to be a disciple of Christ and stop seeking to win popularity contests…too many lives depend upon it…#thinkonthesethings
