To Whom Shall We Go?

When in trouble, we tend to run and hide from the very thing we need: to be in the presence of God. We know that God is a “consuming fire”, but despite being a just God, we learn from His Word to us that He is also a forgiving God (Heb. 12:29; Ex. 34:6,7; Is. 38:17). If we know this, then why do we hide? The stronghold of sin contends strongly against the Divine impulses that God sends to us through His Holy Spirit. As a result of this, our nature is to hide from what we know of God’s nature (sinfulness vs. holiness). When the Light of God’s presence shines upon us in our current state, It reveals to us the ugliness of our sin and shows us our desperate need for immediate cleansing. Apart from the Blood of Jesus, the atoning that appeases the wrath and judgment of God can and will never take place (Heb. 9:22-26). So why do we run and hide from the presence of God, when He graciously provides the way of escape from the very thing that seeks to separate us from Him? Should we not, instead, run to Him?…#‎thinkonthesethings‬
