Inspiration vs. Truth

truth illusionOn yesterday, I had a thought: People love to receive inspirational messages, but do not like to receive the truth! This is true in every sphere of living. Both young and old. Rich and poor. The love of having our ears tickled knows no color boundaries. It is commonplace with many of us. Why? Because if we hear the truth, we become accountable for the truth that we have heard. No one likes to be held accountable for anything that is not of our own choosing.

Accountability-WDGSAAccepting responsibility for our actions means that we are conscious of the fact that the will also be consequences for our actions meted out fairly and justly by the Sovereign Justice of the universe: God Himself. Although the love and mercy of God keeps Him from completely destroying us, the holiness and righteousness of God requires Him to exact some form of justice in order to appease His incurring wrath. It is not God’s desire that any of us perish in the midst of our sin, but He has provided a way of escape to prevent us from experiencing something that is far beyond our ability to comprehend.

Inspiring-words-liveAs demonstrated in the quote mentioned above, inspiration is good, but it is not enough. The truth must be preached by the ambassadors of the Kingdom in every setting and situation. Once we remove the element of truth from what we are communicating, we have communicated a lie in the name of the Lord. The Bible teaches us that God is not a man that He should, neither the son of man that He should repent. This is not to say that the Word of God does not inspire words of encouragement or encourage words of inspiration. We know that it does. What it does mean is that our faith is founded upon the veracity of the Word of God, and what we profess to believe would become null and void with the element of truth.

InvestTruth is what will take us from being the victim to victor, conquered to conqueror, test to testimony, and mess to message. Remember…all truth is truth, but all inspiration is not truth…#‎thinkonthesethings‬
