He Thought He Had Me

stand-firmOne thing about being in leadership…you have to be prepared to endure the tests that come subsequent to you releasing the word that God has given you for His people. We definitely can never forget that we are not exempt from the test…especially if we expect to ascend to the next level of relationship with God. We may be dealt a death blow from the enemy, but we will never be down for the entire count. Why? Because the Word of God teaches us that we have the Greater One living on the inside of us (1 Jn 4:4)! While I am posting this as a reminder to all of my brothers and sisters throughout the world who are enduring some form of struggle, I am also writing this to encourage my own soul!

The beautiful thing about the Word of God is that once It begins to penetrate through the dark shadows cast upon our souls in an effort to turn us aside, It begins to apply the healing balm to the wounds that we have incurred during the process. One thing is certain, we will never exit a battle looking the same way we entered it! We always come out much stronger and wiser! We come out with the strength to continue running the race that is set before us! We come out with the zeal and desire to walk and live as more than a conqueror! Another thing is certain…the devil cannot keep a soldier of the cross down for long because of the life of Christ that lives within! Since Jesus arose…we have the power within to arise as well!

So even in the midst of the storm, we can lie down in peace knowing that He Who stilled the raging sea is still more than capable of calming the storms within our lives as well!…#‎thinkonthesethings‬

Executing The Will Of God

faith without worksIn the Christian lifestyle, hearing and gaining an understanding of God’s purpose for His creation is of paramount importance. However, the culmination of the coming of God’s Kingdom principles at work become realized within and to the unbelieving world when we began to execute the plan of God through our subscribing to godly living. We can profess what we believe every single day that we awake, but in an unbelieving world wherein the unbeliever and the skeptic are many, words are never enough. This is what the Apostle James was communicating to us when he said,

“What doth it profit, my brethern, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works?…Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone…” (2:14,17).

In an earlier passage of Scripture, James said,

“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only…For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed…” (1:22-25).

What does this mean for the believer? It means that when we engage in the reading of the Word of God, Its light shines into the dark areas of our lives and we are able to see an image of who we really are and, therefore, we are challenged to apply the Word to our everyday living. As the seeds are planted within our inner man, they begin to germinate and, if we allow the Holy Spirit to complete His work, we begin to experience spiritual growth and maturity. But this is the result of application of what we have read and heard within the Word of God.

Remember “…faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God…,” but true growth, maturity and an effective witness comes through application of what has been read and heard…#‎thinkonthesethings‬
