Know Your Role

“Now therefore, if ye will obey My voice indeed, and keep My covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto Me above all people: for all the earth is Mine: And ye shall be unto Me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation…” (Ex. 19:5,6).

Being called “a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation” carries an enormous weight of responsibility with it. As such, those who have accepted the calling of God upon their lives and have chosen to subscribe to and live according to the covenant which God has made between Himself and the Body of Christ are now considered to be the custodians of the sacred things of God.

As we parallel this with the concept of an individual being granted custodial rights over someone or something from a legal aspect, we understand that the person has been given the authority of a steward in which he or she must act with the best interest in mind of that which he or she has been given responsibility over. If any harm or incident occurs which threatens the safety or existence of the object in question, it is the sole responsibility of the steward to ensure that the object is protected at all costs.

In consideration of the the abovementioned thoughts, we, as the “…kingdom of priests, and (a) holy nation…” must carefully examine ourselves daily to ensure that there is nothing within our lives that can threaten the safety of that which has been entrusted to us by God for the advancement of His Kingdom and government here on earth. However, we have not all been completely successful. In no way is this an attempt to make a mockery of those who have fallen short in some areas (because we have all fallen short at some point or another), but it is to bring to light an extremely critical issue concerning how we handle the sacred things of God that have been entrusted to us.

In the Old Testament, those who handled the sacred things of God as something that was common were judged and sentenced to death immediately by God (Lev. 10:1-7; Num. 16). Thank God for Jesus! Had it not been for the grace and mercy of God, along with Jesus’ role as our High Priest and Mediator before God, we would be witnessing similar occurrences within our own local assemblies.

Examine yourselves daily. Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to lead and guide you into all truth. Continue to protect that which has been entrusted to you…guard the anointing on your life with your life!!!…#‎thinkonthesethings‬
