Strange Fire?

Book_of_Leviticus_Chapter_10-1_(Bible_Illustrations_by_Sweet_Media)Being the kingdom of priests that God has called out of the world unto Himself is an absolute honor rendered unto humanity that provides a distinction unparalleled within this world. God provides instruction for our daily lives in which He expects us to respond in obedience to His commands. After all, that which is expected of us is not unreasonable in consideration of the life’s blessing we receive in return for our obedience.

However, sometimes, our zeal to perform our best and give our utmost for the Most High can be our undoing. Our human inclination is to try to make improvements to a system of Divine order that is functioning in its intended capacity. In pride, we presume to think that we are capable of taking the sacred things of God and handle them in a manner unprescribed by God, and expect the glory of the Lord to descend upon our tabernacle. What we receive in return, however, is a consuming fire from God in swift and immediate judgment because we have misused that which has been consecrated to the Lord and His service (Lev. 10:1-3).

What is your strange fire? How have you mishandled the anointing given to you by God for His service? We cannot render unto God a “Nadab/Abihu-like” offering with a “Cain-like” attitude and expect to receive an “Abel-like” acceptance and response from God (Lev. 10:1-3; Gen. 4:3-7). Our attitudes and approach to worship and service to God requires us to continuously search our hearts and examine our motives with the light of the Word of God through the illuminating power and revelation knowledge of the Holy Spirit. We want to render unto God the things that belong unto Him, but it must be done with the right heart, the right motive, and in decency and in order…#‎thinkonthesethings‬
