“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of Gd. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth…” (Col. 3:1,2).
The things of this world are insufficient in and of themselves to bring the eternal fulfillment for which we so long. There is no ‘magical formula‘ nor ‘three-point plan‘ through which we might attain the fullness of joy and through which we might find and fulfill purpose in life. These things are found only in Jesus the Christ. Paul says again,
“For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of Whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That He would grant you, according to the riches of HIS glory, to be strengthened with might by HIS Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with ALL the fullness of God. Now unto HIM that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to THE POWER THAT WORKETH IN US…” (Eph. 3:14-20).
Never limit your earthly potential by limiting God’s eternal ability to work in and through you…#thinkonthesethings
Dear Beloved, I didn’t mean to startle you when I walked in on you adjusting your clothes. The way you stared into the mirror was so intense, it made me feel like you were looking for something long gone. Just wanted you to know that the word on the street is, “you don’t look […]
What would our lives be like if our days were ordered by our sacred time spent with God as opposed to our own personal agendas which crowd our lives? We spend so much time scheduling events that are descriptive of our priorities and which will, eventually, add to the chaos and disorder that is evident in our lives already. What if we began our days on our knees and in the Word of God? What if we ended our days on our knees and in the Word of God? What if we communicated with God throughout the day apart from asking for things, but asking to be more like Him? What would happen in our lives and in the lives of those within our sphere of influence with whom we interact daily? What if we focused on the Kingdom agenda instead of our own? What if we focused on the will of God being done instead of our own?…What if?…#thinkonthesethings
In the midst of insurmountable circumstances, remember to keep your focus upon the bounty of your promised land instead of focusing upon the barrenness of your wilderness experience. By looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith, we are able to forge ahead with a renewed commitment to running this race until the end (Heb. 12:2). Continue to keep God at the forefront of your life and everything associated with you. Stand still and watch how He arises in the midst of your circumstances and how your enemies will be scattered (Ps. 68)…#thinkonthesethings
Take time to acknowledge the preeminence of God. Reflecting upon the greatness and vast immensity of the power and majesty of such an awesome God causes us to fall upon our knees and on our faces before the presence of the King of all creation. Doing so, helps us place everything within our lives into perspective and also helps us to prioritize everything into their respective places.
God first and foremost above all…and then everything else…#thinkonthesethings
