Have you ever prayed about or for something or someone and it seemed like it was taking God forever to answer your prayer? Or you began to wonder if God ever heard your prayer? Then you began to question whether what you had asked for was within the plan of God for your life? Sometimes you would begin to remind God of all of your ‘faithfulness’ in giving and serving in His service? And you sought after an answer from Him in tears? But there is that overwhelming and deafening silence…
Well…I am hear to tell you that if your petitions and requests that were made known to God were in alignment with His will and plan for your life, it will come to pass! As long as your life is in alignment with God’s Word and plan, God is faithful to bring it to pass. He will not withhold any good thing from His children as long as it is in alignment with His will and plan for your life.
Where is this all coming from? Well…may I be personal and transparent for a moment? I made a petition to God about a personal matter almost 15-20 years ago and it is just beginning to unfold in my life at this very season of my life. I was almost to the point of giving up on waiting for the answer, but I thank God that He always gives us more grace to make it until the request comes into fruition.
Why does it take so long for it to come into fruition? There are two reasons: 1) because this is the original plan of God for our lives, and 2) because of our actions. Sometimes we become impatient in our period of waiting, and we decide that God is taking too long to answer our prayer. We, then, begin to manipulate life’s events in order to make it appear as though ‘it was nobody but God!’ We engage in these actions so often that we even begin to believe our own deception. But all the while, God is speaking in the midst of His silence, and He is saying, “My child, just wait…it’s on the way…”
God knows what you need, when you need it, why you need it, how you need it, and where you need it (Mt. 6:25-34). We must learn to trust that our Heavenly Father knows everything about us, including our inability to be able to handle life with whatever it is we have asked of Him. We must learn to trust Him and accept what He allows.
So the next time you present your petitions and requests to God, remember that sometimes you have to just wait…it is on the way…#thinkonthesethings
