“Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked…” (Deut. 10:16).
Wholehearted devotion requires a circumcising, or a cutting away, of things or people that will turn us away from the path that God has prepared for us. When we make a conscious, purposed decision to live exclusively for God and to enter into a covenant relationship with Him, there will be a need to ‘cut away’ those things which have become attached to us before they began to take root and become grafted into who we are. Should this take place, we will notice that those things will begin to affect our personalities, our thinking, and ultimately our actions. We have to pray for Divine assistance in remaining alert in every area of our lives. We cannot live this life nor face its battles alone.
