Discerning Your Position, Pt. 1

“But when ye go over Jordan, and dwell in the land which the Lord your God giveth you to inherit, and when he giveth you rest from all your enemies round about, so that ye dwell in safety…” (Deut. 12:10).

How do you know when you have arrived at the place in God where He desires for you in this season? The place of inheritance is a place wherein God gives us rest from our enemies and we dwell in the presence of the Lord in safety. Does this mean that the enemy will not lift his head against us? No. But it does mean that we will know that we have arrived at the place of God’s choosing when we are able to trust in God’s ability to make provision in every area and to provide protection in every circumstance, regardless of the appearance.

We must realize that the place of inheritance is not only a physical place, but it is also a spiritual place as well. We cannot have a separation between our spiritual and physical realities because each affects the other. If our spirit is not in alignment with God’s will and is troubled, it will be manifested in our physical bodies in some form as well. We may attempt to mask our true and current spiritual state, but our physical bodies will betray us every time.
