How Did I Get Here?, Pt. 2

“When thou art come unto the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, and shalt possess it, and shalt dwell therein, and shalt say, I will set a king over me, like as all the nations that are about me…” (Deut. 17:14).

As God’s peculiar people, we must realize that everything we have need of is found in Him. Over time, after we turn our eyes from Him and begin to look at others around us, we will begin to believe that “the grass is greener on the other side.” We will begin to believe that we are missing out on “something better than” what we have been blessed with already. At some point, we will become faced with a decision which will determine the course for the rest of our lives.

God has created each of us with the free will to make a conscious and informed decision to live exclusively for Him and to allow Him to reign as King in our lives as we do. Having us search deep within, let us make sure that we make the right decision.

That Free Will cuts both ways and also allows us to disbelieve in his existence unfortunately. A struggle of my youth, but a good reminder. -OM

  2. Yes, sometimes we often ponder how did we get to a particular place but seldom how to leave. We often go in search of what we think is missing from our lives, ignoring the fact that everything we need is actually found in God.
