“The Lord talked with you face to face in the mount out of the midst of the fire…” (Deut. 5:4).
God’s desire has always been to have direct contact with His people. It would be a return to the Divine Order of things as initiated in the beginning of creation (Gen. 1:26-3:21) Although God had spoken to others beyond the Garden of Eden experience, in the beginning, both Adam and Eve were able to communicate directly with God.
In today’s society, the people within the Body of Christ have the propensity to be overly dependent upon the man or woman of God to receive Divine revelation. God, however, is speaking to His people and offering assurance that they no longer have to be afraid to approach Him. It really is okay for us to foster direct communication with Him. As our Heavenly Father, He longs for it.
We no longer have to be afraid, nor do we have to wait to have someone to speak to God on our behalf. We can approach Him for ourselves and receive the Divine revelation for our lives on our own (Heb. 4:14-16). What a golden opportunity!
