“Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof…” (Mt. 6:33).
Regardless of how long I have been living and how my foundation for life has been laid within the Church, I still find myself learning new things daily. Other times, I find myself being reminded of things I have been taught before. The main thing that I have been reminded of lately is that life is a marathon to be lived one day at a time and not a sprint to be lived at break neck speed. We have the propensity to allow the activities of life to pull us into areas and things of which we should not be involved and the fallout from those engagements can sometimes be detrimental to the things of life that do really matter.
So sometimes it is necessary to take a step back to realign our priorities and refocus on the life that God has planned for us instead of what our fleshly desires may be inclined to engage in. It does not matter what it is, if it is going to pull us away from our God-ordained lives, then we need to let it go. God’s will being done and His Kingdom coming are the most important goals in the life of a believer that should be focused upon on a daily basis. We must execute His plan for our lives on a daily basis. We must live intentionally for Him on a daily basis.
