“And she said unto the men, I know that the Lord hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you. For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed. And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the Lord your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath…” (Josh. 2:9-11).
There is something amazing that we as believers should always remember: If God has promised us victory, it will definitely come to pass, regardless of whatever the enemy will attempt to place in our paths to cause us to fail in our war campaign. Did I just say “war campaign?” Yes, I did because that is exactly what it is.
The enemy knows that God has made promises to His people concerning many areas of life. He is determined to fight to keep these promises from coming to pass. This is the reason for all of the opposition that we have been facing since having received the promises. The enemy will use whatever and whomever he can employ to launch his assault against us. He knows that once we have fully wrapped our faith around the Word of God to us, we will successfully advance in our efforts and obtain the promises of God for our lives.
They know what God has done in times past. They have heard the reports from around the world. This causes the heart of our enemy to melt and sends shockwaves of fear throughout the ranks of his demonic armies.
What we have to remember that our enemy is brilliant war strategist; however, when fear strikes the heart of anyone, it causes them react irrationally…almost like a rabid, ravenous beast. They will begin to act wildly and launch dangerous attacks against anything in its path. If we are caught within the grips of its teeth, we are doomed.
But “…thanks be unto God, Which always cause the us to triumph in Christ…” (2 Cor. 2:14). God will preserve us on the battlefield as long as we remain focused upon our objective: the Word of His Promise and His power and ability to bring it to pass.
What does this mean? This means that THIS IS WAR!!! So we must prepare ourselves for the days ahead. This calls for much prayer…much time in the Word…much time in worship…much time in the presence of God in order to hear the Lord’s battle plan with clarity and precision so that we may faithfully and successfully execute the plan of God.
