One Step Closer

“Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec…” (Heb. 6:17-20).

The journey of a believer is often filled with the enemy’s attempts to trick or intimidate us into quitting just as we began or just before we reach our destination. In either scenario, we cannot allow him to get into our heads. We must rebuke those thoughts and attacks in the name of Jesus and plead the Blood of Jesus against them. Then, we must center our thoughts back onto those things which bring us peace (Is. 26:3; Phil. 4:6-9).

With each day, we are one step closer to receiving the promises of God. Therefore, we cannot stop now…neither can we slow down our progress. We must continue to forcefully move forward in advancing God’s Kingdom as we continue to trust that God is not slack concerning His promises (2 Pet. 3:9). Hang in there…it is on the way…I promise you…it really is…
