The Search Is Over

“As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?…” (Ps. 42:1-2).

Our inner being has a natural longing for something to fill and satisfy the void with which each of us are born. After searching throughout the world and through the philosophical tenets of other belief systems, we always arrive at the same conclusion: There is nothing on earth which satisfies us!

What are we to do? The answer is simple: Return to the One Who created us. The problem, then, becomes: Do we really believe He exists? In order to receive the results needed, there must be the belief in His existence and that He will reward those who seek after Him with the true revelation of Himself (Heb. 11:6). Once the belief in His real existence takes place, He presents us with the option of receiving Himself into our lives to fill void left by the entrance of sin into the world (Gen. 3).

Only when we establish a genuine relationship with the Creator will we be able to satisfy the longing that we have within. The thirst and hunger we awake with each day is satisfied as we enter into daily fellowship and communion with Him. During each encounter, He deposits more of Himself into our lives as we grow and mature spiritually.

How do we resolve the issue of filling the void? By refusing to chase after other remedies offered by the world to address the symptoms of our sin-sick soul, and going directly to the One Who can get down to the root cause of the problem itself.
