This, for me, was a week of many reflections. Both personally and professionally. I wrestled with how to proceed forward with life in all areas. I believe that as many issues threatened to overwhelm us, my approach to everyday has a new focus. Am I leaving behind the initial purpose of the website? No, the Bible will remain the foundation of everything I engage in. However, it does mean that my writing will take on additional topics as they arise.
I believe we, within Christianity, allow ourselves to become singularly focused to the neglect of other essential areas of life. These areas need to be examined and discussed from a Biblical perspective as well. On the other side of this stance is the fact that not everyone subscribes to the Christian lifestyle. I have a responsibility to meet them where they stand and engage in a healthy dialogue with them.
Many people will not enter a church within their lifetime. Therefore, I have a responsibility to be the Church and take life to them. How can I, in good conscience, sit back while the world is falling apart around me?
Kingdom Living places a demand on the resources and gifts I have within. It demands that I take a stand for love, peace and justice when others remain seated. This lifestyle demands that I speak out when others remain silent. If I intend to be God’s man for this hour, then I must live life from His perspective. What is God’s perspective?
“He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?” (Mic. 6:8).
These reflections and life changes mean that I will speak out against injustice in the tenor of love. My reflections and life changes mean that I will look for ways to increase my sphere of influence to expose the darkness of this world to the light of the Kingdom. I purpose within my heart to go hard and spend every resource and gift before I leave here to go home.
