“As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God…” (Ps. 42:1).
Trying to reflect on something that will not only encourage the reading audience today led me to find something that would also encourage me as well. When all else fails, we are sure to find some form of encouragement in the writings of King David in the Book of Psalms. In those moments when we are drifting through life inattentive to our current position, sometimes we need to take a step back to find ourselves in God once again.
The only satisfaction and fulfillment we will find in life that is guaranteed is found in God alone. All others and everything else will leave an emptiness within. When we turn to others, we, in essence, are saying that God is not enough. I would dare to say that we are absolutely accurate. God is not merely enough…but He is more than enough. When we turn to Him, we are saying that we need not look any further….because He alone is more than enough. God completes us. He is the Source of every good and perfect gift (Jam. 1:17). Our Heavenly Father supplies every need we may have.
