Once God has written our story, there is not anything that the enemy nor any man can do to rewrite the order nor remove any of its content. The psalmist declares,
“Forever, O Lord, Thy Word is settled in heaven…” (119:89).
The prophet Isaiah, later, confirms the words of the psalmist when he says,
“The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the Word of our God shall stand forever…” (40:8).
So whenever we are faced with opposition from the enemy or anyone else, whenever someone is attempting to remind us that we have not become who God has said that we will be, all we need to do is to remember “…that the Lord will do this thing (in us) that HE hath spoken…” (Is. 38:7)…#thinkonthesethings
I was preparing myself to write this morning and a thought entered my mind as I read about the sabbatical years and the year of Jubilee, “How do we know that these principles still apply to us within this contemporary context?” Almost immediately, the response was given to me as the Holy Spirit brought this familiar passage of Scripture to my remembrance,
“The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the Word of our God shall stand forever…” (Is. 40:8).
At first, I did not understand, so I continued to read and meditate upon the Word. A few moments later, the Holy Spirit spoke to me and said, “Just because people choose not to abide by the principles within the Word does not mean that the principles are no longer relevant.” In other words, just because we choose to walk in disobedience to the Word of God, it neither negates nor nullifies what has been inspired by God within His Word.
The promise of God’s blessing is more than sufficient to evoke and sustain our obedience to His instruction…but we must submit to the Authority of God’s Word in order for to be effective within our daily lives…#thinkonthesethings
We live in a time wherein many people are going around and speaking things into the lives of believers…and it is all in the name of God! We must constantly pray for the spirit of discernment because they are agents of Satan who are operating under the guise of Christian leadership. This spirit is running rampant throughout the world and it is causing many to lose heart as time passes and the promised ‘blessing’ does not manifest.
Only One Person has the authority and power to reward blessings for obedience and punishment for disobedience…and that is God. The Sovereignty of God is pushed to the forefront as we realize that God is not obligated to honor anything if it is not in alignment with His Word. God’s Word contains every promise that He has made to His people. We have to become better students of the Word in order to be able to identify the lies of the enemy.
“For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness…” (2 Cor. 11:13-15).
There is an old adage that says, “Consider the source.” It speaks of using wisdom when learning of something with which we may be unfamiliar or new to us. Every thing that glitters is not gold, and every promise made is not a word from God. The enemy uses just enough truth in order to appeal to our senses, but contains just enough of a lie to distract us from the truth, if we are not discerning and careful enough.
Jesus warns us,
“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect…Watch therefore…” (Mt. 24:24,42).
We must be watchful and prayerful at all times. The enemy is out “…to steal, to kill, and to destroy…”, and he will employ whatever method it takes to move us farther away from God in order to pounce upon us and discredit God (Jn. 10:10). Learn to discern the difference between the truths of God’s Word and the lies and propaganda of the devil…#thinkonthesethings
We are surrounded with so many acts of evil with which we must contend on a daily basis. With each act our faith is tested, but we must stand firm upon the promises of God’s wherein He promises to never leave us nor forsake us. It sometimes seems to be easier said than done, but the truth of the matter is that God’s promises to us is one of the bedrocks upon which we base our faith. The enemy wants us to move away from God’s Word because he knows that we draw our faith and strength from It. James says,
“…Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you…” (4:7).
Do not allow the enemy to play games with your mind. Stay focused upon the Word of God. Meditate upon It day and night. Always keep It at the forefront of your mind…#thinkonthesethings
