Life (No Longer A Slave)…

Father, as I prepare to go into the land of promise…my prayer is that You shine the light of Your glory upon my life that I may see every area that is not pleasing to You. I desire to be wholly clean before You and do not want the stench of my past to continue to be upon my life. I pray, Father, that You roll away the reproach of my Egypt from off me as You did with the children of Israel after they crossed the Jordan and entered into the Promised Land (Josh. 5:9).

My desire is to walk up rightly before You everyday in every way, even if it means that You confront me with face to face with my shortcomings. I choose to come forward to You because I do not want to continue on my current path because I know You have more for me. I want to live life to fullest with Your life flowing through me.

Circumcise my heart, Father. Cut away everything and everyone that has been a hindrance to my my growth and maturation…even me, O, Lord…even me. I do not want to return to bondage again because You have truly liberated me. You have broken every shackle and chain off of my life…now I am free to live for You triumphantly in Christ Jesus, my Savior and Lord….Your Son.

I have not come this way before and I do not want to have to come this way again. So help me, Father because I want to get things right this one time. Father, I do not want walk around the same mountain again. I need that part of my life to be over and done with. I want my destiny. My desire for Your promise for my life to be fulfilled. Father, help me to become the man You have created me to become…so roll away the stench of my past…

Consecrate and sanctify me, O, Lord. Make me a vessel that is meet for the Master’s use. I am no longer a slave to sin and bondage. No longer am I a slave to the kingdom of darkness. I am no longer a slave to this world. Now I belong to You, Heavenly Father. I thank You and praise You for this for I pray this in Jesus’ name…Amen!

Avoiding Insanity…

IMG_0086-0As I continue going through therapy for my wrist injury, I am constantly reminded of a Kingdom principle: healing and restoration is a process. Regardless of how I attempt to rush the process, complete restoration and functionality will only occur as I continue to participate along with the process and its timing. I cannot expedite the process by taking shortcuts in order to return to my regularly scheduled programming. By doing so, I run the risk of not becoming healed and restored completely and can be become a candidate for future injuries to the same place of injury.

Our bodies were designed with internal healing properties that regenerate themselves as we take proper care of ourselves. As we participate in God’s plan and design for our lives, our bodies will arrive at its normal state eventually. Everything, regardless of how we attempt to manipulate them, will operate within the parameters in which God has established…to do otherwise would be a recipe for chaos and disaster.

We would do well to remember that wherever we are attempting to go and whatever it is we are attempting to do will be there whenever we arrive. Even more, we will find that things will fall into place in its designed time and not one second before. We cannot continue to force nor rush the processes of life…to do so while expecting different results is an exercise in futility…#thinkonthesethings

Just Wait…It’s On The Way

o-PATIENCE-facebookHave you ever prayed about or for something or someone and it seemed like it was taking God forever to answer your  prayer? Or you began to wonder if God ever heard your prayer? Then you began to question whether what you had asked for was within the plan of God for your life? Sometimes you would begin to remind God of all of your ‘faithfulness’ in giving and serving in His service? And you sought after an answer from Him in tears? But there is that overwhelming and deafening silence…

Well…I am hear to tell you that if your petitions and requests that were made known to God were in alignment with His will and plan for your life, it will come to pass! As long as your life is in alignment with God’s Word and plan, God is faithful to bring it to pass. He will not withhold any good thing from His children as long as it is in alignment with His will and plan for your life.

Where is this all coming from? Well…may I be personal and transparent for a moment? I made a petition to God about a personal matter almost 15-20 years ago and it is just beginning to unfold in my life at this very season of my life. I was almost to the point of giving up on waiting for the answer, but I thank God that He always gives us more grace to make it until the request comes into fruition.

Why does it take so long for it to come into fruition? There are two reasons: 1) because this is the original plan of God for our lives, and 2) because of our actions. Sometimes we become impatient in our period of waiting, and we decide that God is taking too long to answer our prayer. We, then, begin to manipulate life’s events in order to make it appear as though ‘it was nobody but God!’ We engage in these actions so often that we even begin to believe our own deception. But all the while, God is speaking in the midst of His silence, and He is saying, “My child, just wait…it’s on the way…”

God knows what you need, when you need it, why you need it, how you need it, and where you need it (Mt. 6:25-34). We must learn to trust that our Heavenly Father knows everything about us, including our inability to be able to handle life with whatever it is we have asked of Him. We must learn to trust Him and accept what He allows.

So the next time you present your petitions and requests to God, remember that sometimes you have to just wait…it is on the way…#thinkonthesethings
